3What is the MOS UK & IE Championship?

The Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office applications, operated and sponsored in the UK and Ireland by Prodigy Learning. Over 30,000 student entrants across the UK & Ireland compete in the MOS UK & IE Championship by passing a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Exam each year. Three Champions (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) will beat 30 top finalists at the MOS UK & Ireland Championship final and win the opportunity to compete at the MOS World Championship Final!

How to take part & qualify?

To participate, eligible students* must first take, and pass, a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) exam in Excel, PowerPoint or Word before entry rounds below:

WIN an X-Box in Fast Track Round – Oct 1st-31st, 2022

Win an X-Box to give to one of your learners by delivering the highest number of MOS Certification Exams during a MOS Test Fest during the Fast Track Round from the 1st – 31st October, 2022.  

• UK & Ireland: 3 students (one in each category) secure place in the June 2023 final.

Winter Round – Sept 5th until Dec 31st, 2022

• UK:  6 students (two in each category) secure place in the June 2023 final.

• Ireland: 3 students (one in each category) secure place in the June 2023 final.

Summer Round – Jan 2nd until May 26th, 2023

• UK: 6 students (two in each category) secure place in the June 2023 final.

• Ireland: 3 students (one in each category) secure place in June 2023 final.

Bonus Round – Date TBC 2023

• UK & Ireland: 3 students (one in each category) secure place in the June 2023 final.

What to expect at the MOS UK & IE Championship Final?

The top 30 students from across the UK & Ireland who secure their places from the entry rounds will be invited to take a final MOS Certification Exam at the final in June 2023. At the final, three champions (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) will be crowned using the top score method.

If scores are tied, then the time taken will be taken into consideration and the highest score with the quickest time will determine the MOS UK & IE Champions. Winners will be announced in an awards ceremony at the MOS UK & IE Championship Final. 

What is the GRAND PRIZE? 

The Grand Prize for each of the three MOS UK & IE Champions will be a trip of a lifetime to represent the UK & IE and compete on a global stage at the Certiport MOS World Championship Final 2023 in the USA!

*Terms and Conditions apply. All decisions made by Prodigy Learning are final. To compete in the final round of the Championship, students must be enrolled in an approved, accredited learning institution and be 13 to 22 years of age (as of June 15, 2023). The prize for MOS UK & Ireland Champion in Word, PowerPoint and Excel is a standalone prize, if the champion is unable to attend / gain entry to the US, there is no alternative prize offered. It is the responsibility of the champion and the chaperone if under 18 to have the required US entry documents to gain entry to the US for the MOS World Championship final. Decisions on ESTA’s are out of the control of Prodigy Learning, as is US immigration. If for any reason US entry requirements cannot be met, and the champion cannot travel this is out of Prodigy Learning’s control.
